     About Capoli Cabin

HISTORY

The Buckmaster family built this 20' x 30' remote cabin and sauna house from White Pine planted in the 1960's and harvested some thirty years later.  The hand hewn logs and interior walnut and butternut all originated from Capoli Ranch.  This exact location was home to Mississippi River clammers at the turn of the century and later farmer Abby Lute who abandoned the site in 1944.  After dismantling and salvaging the wooden structure it was hauled to the town of Lansing, Iowa and reconstructed on Valley Street where it remained until it's demise in 2012.
